Parry Sound EMS/ACS Peer Support Team

Mission Statement: Aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental, confidential avenue for employees to connect with trained peers who understand the unique stressors of the work environment.

Parry Sound EMS/ACS Peer Support Team consists of peer nominated Paramedics and Communications Officers with training through the Tema Foundation in MANERS Psychological First Aid as well as ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).

Parry Sound EMS/ACS Peer Support Team provides a non-judgmental "listening ear" for employees in need. We do not provide counsel or expert advice; however, we offer information/education within our peer training and identify resources. Peer Support Team members encourage self-care, wellness, and overall wellbeing. We assess for risk of harm within our training and make appropriate referrals.

Parry Sound EMS/ACS Support Team does not act in lieu of professional care.
